Before diving into today’s note I’d like to ask a question.

If you had a list of favorite emotions would insecurity be one of them? What about vulnerability or nervousness?

My guess is that insecurity would only appear on a list of unwanted emotions.

Insecurity tends to trigger behaviors to fix, change, or get rid of the feeling. Or attempts to manufacture confidence using self-help tools.

But what if we don’t need to find a cure for insecurity?

What if insecurity is an intelligent signal?

Revealing that you are moving away from knowing you are the essence and source of life. And are sliding towards an ingrained belief that you lack what you need and are separate from what you desire.

This mental and emotional slide leads to searching for happiness, peace, and purpose in the world. Which undermines the realization that you are the Source of all you truly want and desire.

When we ignore the intelligence of insecurity and treat it only as a problem to get rid of, there is no lasting resolution.

The unconscious push and pull of conflicting beliefs obscure both the deep OK-ness of being rooted in presence and the clarity, perspective and insights of your true self.

Insecurity will surface again and again until the temporary band-aids that prevent transformation and healing are discarded.

So, the next time you feel insecure I encourage this: let go trying to change or get rid of feeling insecure. Drop trying to override insecurity with strategies for confidence.

Instead, open, gently, with curiosity, to the discomfort of insecurity. Have no agenda to feel better (this will pull you back into believing you’re lacking and separate ‘me’). Simply open to feeling what you feel without judging, analyzing, or trying to change the feeling.

Here, in the fearless, open space of curiosity. The mind that wants to find a solution to a problem of its own making is stilled.

Relieved by the pressure to find a cure, the conditioned mind relaxes its fruitless spin. Allowing the mind-body system to reset in alignment with the peace and wholeness of the heart and a deep, grounded, feeling of OK-ness that arises when we return to knowing our true nature.

Be open and grateful for the signal of insecurity. Without it suffering will increase.

Love,

Fiona

Is it for you?

The Circle is open to folks at all points of the journey:

  • You may be new to the path of living conscious and aware of your true nature and might not be sure what it means or how to get started but just know, that you’re drawn to this exploration even if you don’t know why.
  • You understand intellectually what awakening means but know deep down you’re not ‘getting it’ experientially as you get swept up in the dramas of life or try to avoid life thinking it’s not spiritual. Either way, the presence of constant ‘OK-ness’ is absent.
  • You’ve had sudden, immersive moments of being present with no sense of being a separate ‘me’ and now feel disorientated and lost. You need somewhere to integrate and make sense of your experience.
  • You experience frequent or prolonged periods of being present, open, and aware of the unity and harmony of all of life. And you know there is no end to deepening into the freedom, OK-ness, and delight of being and living from your true nature.

Members have access to one live meeting a month, a monthly video reflection, and answers to questions via email and video Q and A.
